The Story of Catching up with the Story - Part 2

I know, I know, I haven't posted in a while, I'm busy, I've got twins for cryin out loud ;-)

Seriously though, we feed the boys every three hours around the clock at 8a, 11a, 2p, 5p, 8p, 11p, 2a, 5a.  Lather, rinse, repeat.  At night, we usually let them go a little bit longer, but that usually doesn't work out that well because Landon gets super fussy when he goes longer than 3 hours without eating, Reagan doesn't mind, but we want him to keep gaining weight.

So what it ends up actually being, when we finish the 11pm feedings, get them into bed, and get to bed ourselves, it's about midnight-ish, give or take.  Then Hillary gets up at 1:30am to pump, I get up at 1:45am to get the boys next meal ready, we feed them at 2am, get finished about 2:30-ish, back to sleep about 3am-ish, in time to get back up at 4:30/45-ish to feed again.

In the ago, before the boys were born, I was usually up and out of bed no later than 4:30-ish on work days, and sleeping in until 6am on weekends.  That would be nice.  Now, we're usually so beat in the morning, we're not moving out of the bedroom and downstairs until after the 8am feedings.

Tomorrow should be an adventure though, Hillary has an 8:40 doctors appointment with her OB, and I have an 8:30 dentist appointment, then I have to get some blood work done right after.  Nothing to worry about, I went to see my doctor on Friday to get a referral for the old snip-er-ooni.  (Do they still give out vasectomy pins you can wear on your lapel?)  My doctor told me (tongue in cheek) that since I'll be 42 in April, if I didn't go and get blood tests done (PSA, LDL, HDL, etc) then he wouldn't give me the referral.  So what that means, is that Hillary gets to take the boys to her doctors appointment by herself.  Wish her luck, her first trip out into the real world by herself with the boys.

We had a good day today, packed the boys up and took a walk to the Hoagie Hut for lunch, then Shanna and Katie came by to visit with baby Ava.  Now we're just hanging out.

Good day yesterday too, we took the boys on their first real outing, over to my mom and dad's house for dinner.  My dad made Nicks Roast Beef, (it's a back home thing), it was really good.  My nanny went home today, so it was good to see her before she left.  She came out to spend some time with us but was sick most of the time she was here.

So I'm sure you want to see pictures?

Here's a couple of Reagan.  He has a case of baby acne going on right now, my mom said I had it when I was a baby, and Michelle said that Hannah had it too.  We thought it might have been a rash at first (he has it on his face and chest), but after treating him on the chest with some hydrocortisone for a bit, it didn't go away.  We have an appointment with Dr. Coppa on Thursday, so we'll see if there is anything else we can do.  So here's a pimply Reagan.....

My mom and dad came by the house the other day, they're finally over being sick so here's my dad with Reagan and my mom with Landon.....

Here are some pictures of our outing to my mom and dad's house the other day.  First up is a picture of four generations of Poulsen, my nanny, my dad, me, and the boys.....
Here's a picture of mommy holding her boys.....
And here's the boys all wrapped up for the car ride home (and yes, those are Red Sox beanies).....
Liza is coming out for a while starting on Wednesday, so for all of our Texas readers, we'll have some pictures of Liza with the boys coming up.

That's it for now, more soon (I promise)

  2. Too precious. I think you both are doing an extraordinary job. Well done. The chaos of feedings will get better. Hang in there.
