Wednesday morning I was on my way to CHLA to spend some time with Reagan, but I had to stop at SJRMC first to sign the paperwork for the birth certificates, and hang out with Landon for a bit. Here's a picture of him holding my hand...
That white light is the phototherapy light for his jaundice. It had creeped up a bit, so they still have him on it. As Hillary wrote about, the talk is all about getting ready to take him off the ventilator soon, so fingers crossed.
I headed down to CHLA to hang out with Reagan and let him know that his brother misses him and he wishes they were together again. Reagan is not moving along as fast as his brother, he still has a long way to go, he is still on all the contraptions they have him on. I hope and pray that he gets better. As soon as they figure out which combination of treatments works the best, they can start to wean him off and hopefully get him off the nitric oxide (to help his surfactant production), then off the big vent (to help him breathe), then off the dopamine (for the low blood pressure), then off the paralytics (because he tries to breathe against the machines), etc, etc, etc. I would gladly take all of that on myself if it meant he could come home.
Here's a video of Reagan.....
That's all I have for now, more tomorrow.
Phil
